Walk Description

  1. Starting at the bottom of King Street – walk up King Street and follow it as it breaks off to the right – make sure you follow the bend and don’t head straight down Millfield Street
  2. As you follow the bend round, look for the second major left – Greenwood Road – head down this road
  3. Carry on until you hit a dead end, and take the footpath off to the right which takes an almost immediate left after joining
  4. Keep on this path – ignoring another path that goes off to the left – this path eventually takes you off to the left
  5. Follow this path straight on then over the bridge over the River Nidd
  6. After heading over the bridge, follow the  path to the left
  7. Stay on the footpath closest to the River Nidd
  8. This takes you all the way back to the road, where you can walk to see the war memorial
  9. Once you’ve seen the war memorial you want to head back to the main road, cross over to the other side and head onto the car park drive
  10. At the end of this there is a footpath to take
  11. Follow the footpath, which is straight at first but then breaks right after crossing Rash Dike and meanders to the road
  12. Join the road, heading to the right and follow it all the way as it rejoins the B6265
  13. Head right on the B6265 and follow the road back over the bridge, and back to where you started
